Wildcard
One flat blank, a lot of different jobs. Bend it by hand, slot the card through whichever cutouts fit the situation, and you've got a holder for the things nothing else fits — a bottle in a cleaning cabinet, a carton of filament, a roll of webbing.
No bin, no divider, nothing to clip to. Set a card down near those and it slides behind something or ends up on the floor. A Wildcard gives it a fixed place to stand: upright, visible from across the room, exactly where you put it. Position it at your reorder point and anyone walking past can see the stock has hit the line.
They store flat, so keep a stack in a drawer. When you hit the next awkward item — and you will — you bend one to fit instead of ordering something new.
How to use it
- Bend the blank by hand into a 90° bracket. No tools.
- Slot the card through the cutouts that suit the item — the arrangement is up to you.
- Slide it into the stack, row, or shelf at the level you want to reorder at.
- When stock drops to the Wildcard, the card comes off and goes in a Drop Point.
Works well for
- Bottles and jugs in cleaning cabinets
- Cardboard cartons on shelves — 3D printer filament, gloves, consumables
- Rolls of webbing, tape, and stock material
- Anything shelved or stacked without a bin or divider to clip to
We made these for ourselves. They're what we reach for on onsite Arda installs at companies large and small, because every shop has a dozen items that don't fit the standard bin-and-card setup.
